What You Are Not Saying

November 20, 2013

Mitch Albom is right we often decide for good and bad reasons not to speak our truth, we bite our tongue for a ‘quiet life’ or to protect others. But what happens to that statement we never said?

It stays in our head and becomes part of our projections, so we may not say it our loud but we see it in others, we may even behave in such a way as to make them react just like the statement we never said. So if someone decided not to tell me I over reacted yesterday, it would stay in their head and they may choose to make me over react to something today  else just to prove they were right. This  of course remains out of our conciousness .

So before you bite your tongue just think – should you really keep quiet, is there a way to speak your truth without being hurtful. If you need any help with that check out our counsellors and agony aunts on the website
