Is Now The Right Time…..High Priestess Card
The High Priestess is the guardian of the unconscious. She is associated with the Moon. The moon under her left foot shows her dominion over intuition. The palm indicates fertility of the mind and the cube on which she sits is the earth. The presence of the High Priestess in a reading usually tells me that the person may have been rushing about and overdoing things in the past, and this may have left him/her feeling overwhelmed. It is possible for this card to appear when someone have been doing some things because they don’t want to think of themselves as a person who can’t achieve what others may have. This card warns the person that it is important to balance their achievements with some quiet time. It is important for the querent to get some time aside to reflect about their past mistakes and to listen to her/his intuition. The querent needs to focus on doing the right thing without any rush. The High Priestess tells me about a need for calmness in the querent’s life. She is a card that don’t speak, only listens. She asks people to gain knowledge before they act, she clearly comes to a reading to instruct the querent to observe and only make a move when they know what is going on. She’s one of the rare cards in the deck that can tell you that contradiction is an acceptable answer at the present moment.
The High Priestess is wise and she knows that sometimes it is better to let events proceed and watch the outcome, because when the time is right, the querent will know what to do. She reminds the querent to stay true to what they believe to be right, because things can take a while to become clear. Most times she’s trying to say that the querent shouldn’t be approaching the situation in a yes or no manner, she is trying to point to the fact that first, the querent needs to seek understanding, because some things are hidden from view at this pointing time. This card asks the querent to understand the balance necessary to get what they want out of life. She is the mystery of the mother, of the moon and of life.
The High Priestess is a guiding card, telling us that right now we are on a path of enlightenment. She also tells the querent that If she or he only concentrates on filling their life with things to do, regardless of the consequences, they will miss out on great things. The querent may not feel completely in control at this time, and may be allowing another person to make decisions for him or her, or they may not be listening to their intuition to decide what is best for their own life. It is important for the querent to know that sometimes she or he needs to relax and accept that they are not in charge of everything that happens to her or him. If they show determination and self discipline, they will soon be able to see things clearer, and they will be rewarded with a period of peace, knowing that their main battles are won.
The High Priestess asks the querent to be aware of their dreams and intuition. She tells the querent to search for areas in his or her life that may be out of balance or that require greater wisdom. She may be pointing to a change that may be coming from inside ourselves or outside influences. A small change that could lead to a big transformation. She represents the unknown, and her energy in a reading may be indicating that things that once seemed secure in the querent’s life, are not certain anymore. Clarity can only be reached with patience and knowledge. Even in times of major chaos and turmoil, she asks us to understand that it is part of a necessary process, and after the dust settles, the gift will reveal itself. It is a card that also asks us to focus on ourselves, so the querent needs to review things before they act on what is important in his or her life. If the querent have patience and become more in touch with their subconscious mind, the truth will be revealed like a sun rising over the horizon.
