We all want to help our friends and loved ones when times are hard, we want to make it all right for them, but sometimes we just make it worse!
The first part of healing is feel that someone is hearing and maybe even holding the issue for you, no actions, no advice and no making it ok again. The action stage comes later and maybe they will want to take the action to make things better again.
So check out what is upsetting someone and ask them what they want from you first, no matter how much you want to make everything ok for them. Listen, empathise and just be there is often the best help in the world.
