Did you ever considered if you are reaching your full potential? How would you feel if, in your last day in Earth, the person you became met the person you could have become? Sometimes, you need to give up some things in order to be happier. We hold on to so many things that cause us a great deal of worry, pain, and stress, and instead of letting them all go, instead of allowing ourselves to become the better version of what we are, we hold on to negativity.

If you are looking for positive changes, all you need to do is to commit yourself to the process of self-improvement, in order to find fulfilment in life. Since everyone is different, you will need to define the terms of success for yourself to become the best person that you can be. Once you identified what success means to you, think of all the things you want to achieve in your life. Consider the aspects you could improve in any way, such as being more assertive, more generous, or a better listener. Setting specific goals for your life is an important part of achieving success.

Make a self improvement list and write down everything you want to achieve. Make sure to set realistic goals and make positive statements instead of negative ones. In order to do this, write down the things you want, instead of the things you don’t want anymore.

Give up your need for control. Just let go of the habit to control everything that happens to you. Accept that the circumstances, events, people, and other aspects of life are not under your control, and just allow them to be. Allow everything and everyone to be just as they are, and stop judging yourself and others around you. Be kinder to yourself, and start changing your lifestyle and the energy of your thoughts. When you adopt a non-judgemental nature, you understand that every one of us is a product of different circumstances and we all seek peace and fulfilment in life.

Try disconnecting from your usual routine in order to find inspiration. Spend time in nature, listen to music, photograph random things that makes you happy, and carry a pen and paper with you, so you can write down inspirational moments to be cherished in the future. Be open to learning new things and accept that changes are inevitable in life. On your journey for self improvement, focus on things that you can influence and take action. The best way to adapt to new circumstances is by setting new goals.

Remember that setbacks are simply a way of showing you what works and what does not work. They can show you the way to achieve what you want if you see them in a positive perspective. Plan your future, but focus on what is in front of you right now, and take small steps for improvement each day. Give up thinking that your goals will be achieved overnight. Remember that your short term goals will set the tone for long term life improvements. Take responsibility for your actions and avoid giving excuses. You are in control of all areas of your life: your health, your mind and your general wellbeing.

Finally, realise the need of getting rid of toxic people in your life. Remember that your vibe attracts your tribe, so, in order to attract positive and uplifting people into your life, you need to become a better person yourself. Let go of bitterness, when you are bitter, you believe that someone else has the problem. Not you. You will be much happier if you learn to let go of everything that does not contribute positively to your life, and stop being a victim of the circumstances.
